Angela Draper
As a licensed acupuncturist and physician of Traditional Chinese Medicine, my mission is to provide the highest caliber of real, hands-on care combining eastern therapies with modern science customized to fit each person’s specific needs. I believe the largest part of wellness can be achieved and maintained through lifestyle and self care, with interventions to correct imbalances and promote health. My goal is to educate and guide my patients along this path. I specialize in pain management, sports medicine, women’s health and fertility. In addition, I practice internal medicine and I am able to manage an array of complaints from sinus and digestive problems to stress, anxiety and depression.
After experiencing great relief from both neck and low back injuries through acupuncture, I decided to pursue a career in acupuncture, and earned a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. In addition, I completed a two-year clinical internship at Pacific College in general medicine, as well as Acusport, a leading health center in orthopedic rehabilitation. I held further internships at San Diego Cancer Center and San Diego Senior’s Clinic.
Prior to establishing my acupuncture practice, I built a thriving massage practice in San Juan Capistrano, CA, where I was lucky to work with Lisa Sherwood, CNM at Beach Cities Midwifery performing massage and acupressure during labor and childbirth. In addition, I have worked with multiple professional athletes, from the NFL to the US Olympic team.
I engage in a love of travel and culture with my husband Eric, which I combine as frequently as possible with backpacking, rock climbing, surfing, yoga and a general spirit for the outdoors. We have recently acquired a small home orchard and I am learning to be a farmer. I enjoy immensely and couldn’t possibly do without my wonderful community of family and friends, for which I give constant thanks.
