Dr. Travis Johnson is a manual and mobility therapist, chiropractor, yoga teacher, and community health educator. He earned his Doctorate in Chiropractic from Northwestern Health Sciences University. Travis’s interest in wellness-care came from his fascination in human movement in graduate school and transformed into something extraordinary over the past 10 years.
Dr. Travis envisioned a wellness studio where the public could enjoy a diverse, practical, and pro-active approach to spine care and well-being which led him to create YHS.
His passion for spinal health and overall wellness comes from witnessing the effects that improper posture, poor mobility, and harmful movement patterns has on the patients he serves. He believes and promotes a philosophy of prevention and challenges his patients to be accountable for their health.
Dr. Travis studies contemporary movement, mobility, yoga, and manual therapists across the nation. He regularly teaches anatomy & mobility workshops to small businesses, weekend warriors, local-community teams, and yogis. He is active in the local fitness community and enjoys spending time outdoors, on a yoga mat, or with friends and family. He looks forward to partnering with you in your healing journey.
"If I were to prioritize self-care, mental well-ness would lead. Truly knowing oneself and the stories we tend to tell often say a lot more about the health you are in physically and spiritually." ~ Travis

I believe the largest part of wellness can be achieved and maintained through lifestyle and self care, with interventions to correct imbalances and promote health. My goal is to educate and guide my patients along this path. I specialize in pain management, sports medicine, women’s health and fertility. In addition, I practice internal medicine and I am able to manage an array of complaints from sinus and digestive problems to stress, anxiety and depression.
After experiencing great relief from both neck and low back injuries through acupuncture, I decided to pursue a career in acupuncture, and earned a Masters of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM) from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine. In addition, I completed a two-year clinical internship at Pacific College in general medicine, as well as Acusport, a leading health center in orthopedic rehabilitation. I held further internships at San Diego Cancer Center and San Diego Senior’s Clinic.
Prior to establishing my acupuncture practice, I built a thriving massage practice in San Juan Capistrano, CA, where I was lucky to work with Lisa Sherwood, CNM at Beach Cities Midwifery performing massage and acupressure during labor and childbirth. In addition, I have worked with multiple professional athletes, from the NFL to the US Olympic team.
I engage in a love of travel and culture with my husband Eric, which I combine as frequently as possible with backpacking, rock climbing, surfing, yoga and a general spirit for the outdoors. We have recently acquired a small home orchard and I am learning to be a farmer. I enjoy immensely and couldn’t possibly do without my wonderful community of family and friends, for which I give constant thanks.

Originally from East Texas, Jessica has always enjoyed being active outdoors and participating in organized sports such as basketball, softball, track and cross-country.
At age 20, she had a life changing back surgery to treat Scoliosis and only recently experienced the effectiveness of chiropractic care to treat her pain given her unique situation. This experience piqued an already growing interest in healthy movement and mobility, and lead her to YHS where she is able to assist clients and practitioners as the Studio Manager/Personal Assistant.
When she is not in the clinic at the front desk, Jessica enjoys hiking, camping, backpacking, rock climbing, going to the gym and many other activities our beautiful region has to offer.
She hopes to encourage others who have had surgery, or who are experiencing pain, to seek one or more of the methods of healing YHS has to offer and realize that they do not have to simply live with pain and limitations.
Jessica is currently CPR/AED certified and is studying for the American Council of Exercise Personal Trainer certification to improve her own fitness and build her knowledge and ability to help others live healthy lives.
Jessica attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas, where she received her Bachelors of Business degree and has over 15 years working in the healthcare field.
