Who can benefit from mobility self-care?
Mobility care is easily becoming a popular basic self-care for athletes and non-athletes alike.
From construction sites, to kitchens, to fitness studios, to supermarkets, to offices, to hospitals, to driver seats, more and more people are becoming aware of the effects of living sedentary lives: curled over laptops, captives to our steering wheels, desks, phones, tablets etc. for long periods of time. We now recognize that this way of living is hard on our bodies.
If you answer "yes" to any of the following, then you need "MOBILITY SELF-CARE". Do you...
Lift weights? Crossfit?
Practice yoga? Dance?
Play any sport (amateur or professinal)?
Is your work physically demanding? Does it require you to stay in one position for long periods of time (at least 2 hours)?
What is mobility self-care?
Others refer to it as foam rolling. But at YHS, it's more than that. At YHS we hold FREE mobility self-care classes that are designed to give you the knowledge and tools to perform basic maintenance of your soft-tissue systems (muscle, fascia, etc) at HOME. We also highlight areas common for injury and neglect (low back, knees, shoulders, etc).
Our goal is to create a more mobile system and then cement those changes in through moving well and often.
The Class at YHS
They're interactive, exploratory, and fun classes. Please wear comfortable gym attire and feel free to bring your favorite wine. Did someone say wine?!?!?
Again, the class is FREE, but donations are welcome!
Bring a foam roller. If you don't have one, not to worry, you can purchase a Trigger Point foam roller at the venue or use one of ours.
Remember, this class happens every last Wednesday of the month. So if you can't make it this time, make sure you sign up for the next one.
We look forward to seeing you then!
